The variety is a fodder turnip type, described in agronomic literature as early as the 1880s. The root crops have a round shape, white flesh, and a red-purple colored upper part that protrudes above the soil.

The plant is late-maturing and requires regular watering to prevent the flesh from becoming coarse and fibrous. Harvesting must be carried out before the onset of frost for subsequent storage of the root crops.
