The variety is a well-known type of fodder turnip. In catalogs, it is often grouped with the "Norfolk cuello violeta" form due to similar characteristics. The plant forms a rosette of large, upright leaves.

The root crop has a spherical shape and reaches 15–20 cm in diameter. Approximately one-third of the root crop protrudes above the soil surface; this part has a pink-purple coloration. The variety is intended for use as a fodder crop.
