The variety «Meribel» is a French cultivar that was historically included in the EU Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species but is currently removed from the registers. Plants of this species reach a height of 50 to 150 cm, possess erect stems and a strong root system.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by an average flag leaf width. The crop is sensitive to cold, requires high nitrogen content in the soil, and tolerates waterlogging poorly. The species is susceptible to head smut (Ustilago bullata).

The variety is intended for forage production, including use as a grazing or haymaking crop.
