The plant reaches a height and width of 30–40 cm. The foliage is dark green, consisting of small needle-like leaves arranged oppositely. The variety is frost-hardy.
The plant prefers sunny or semi-shaded areas with acidic, loose, and humus-rich soils. It requires moderate watering and pruning from March to April. Used in group plantings, as a specimen plant, or for container cultivation; serves as a honey plant.
