The plant is a compact evergreen shrub, with a height varying from 20 to 50 cm and a bush width of up to 40–50 cm. The foliage is dark green and scale-like.
The flowers are bright red or crimson. The flowering period of the plant falls in the second half of summer and autumn, covering September, October and November.
The variety possesses winter hardiness corresponding to USDA zones 4–7. In high humidity, susceptibility to powdery mildew is possible. It is used in ornamental gardening for landscaping rock gardens, rockeries, creating borders, carpet bedding and container cultivation.
