The variety is a shrub with a broad upright growth habit, reaching a height of about 25 cm with a crown width of up to 30 cm. The foliage is evergreen, black-green in summer, with dark green young shoots.
The plant belongs to the bud-flowering varieties, whose bud-flowers do not open fully, ensuring long-lasting decorative effect. The buds have a purple hue. Flowering can be observed towards November after a warm autumn.
The variety is intended for planting in containers, terrace boxes, group plantings, rock gardens, and heather gardens. It prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations, as well as acidic, humous, well-drained, and loose soils. The plant is characterized as winter-hardy and slow-growing.
