The Capital rootstock is intended to increase the resistance of grafted plants to late blight and other Phytophthora spp. species causing root and crown rots. At the same time, this rootstock is characterized by susceptibility to root-knot nematodes.
In agronomic studies, it is noted that the use of the rootstock contributes to the formation of a large stem diameter in grafted plants. Specific development parameters of the rootstock plant itself are not determined, as it is not intended for the production of marketable fruits.
