The variety is of Bulgarian selection, named after the village of Kurtovo Konare. It is a mid-season or mid-early pepper with a growing period of 140–150 days, which is widely used in Balkan countries for making ajvar, canning, and stuffing.
The plant reaches a height of 50–70 cm. The fruits have an elongated conical "horn" shape, a length of 12–16 cm, and an average weight of 70–100 g. The wall thickness is 5–6 mm. The color changes from light green or amber at technical maturity to intense red at biological maturity.
The variety is characterized by high aroma, sweet taste, and tolerance to high summer temperatures. The plants possess good general resistance to crop diseases.
