The variety is early-maturing, with a vegetation period of 40 to 95 days. The plant forms a compact dense rosette 20–40 cm tall. Leaves are long, finely curled, light or dark green in color with characteristic lightened central veins and petioles.
Leaf texture is juicy and crispy, with a taste having a moderate bitterness. To improve taste quality and blanch the inner part of the leaves, the rosette is tied up 7–10 days before harvesting. The variety is adapted to temperature fluctuations, however, under conditions of extreme heat, it may be susceptible to marginal leaf burn.
