The variety «Protos» is classified as a curly endive (Cichorium endivia L. var. crispum). It appears in a number of agronomic studies from the late 1990s and early 2000s dedicated to the evaluation of yield and chemical composition of plants.
Within the framework of the conducted scientific analyses, the variety was considered as an object for studying nutrient content, in particular magnesium. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant, such as height or disease resistance, are not presented in open sources.
