This population is not a product of industrial breeding with strictly defined characteristics, but represents a collection of more than 60 types with different morphology. The crop is traditionally used for obtaining blanched heads through forcing.

The quality and weight of the marketable product directly depend on the cultivation technique and the size of the root crop used for forcing: a high correlation has been identified between the root diameter and the final yield of heads. The population's reaction to disease impact varies significantly depending on weather conditions.
