The variety is intended for industrial processing, in particular for inulin extraction. Under normal growth conditions, the proportion of roots in the total plant mass is 60–67%. The quality of inulin and its molecular chain length depend on the harvest time; the period from mid-September to mid-October is considered optimal.
In scientific research, the variety has served as a test object for studying the effect of magnesium nutrition on plant development, as well as for studying methods of controlling root rot caused by the pathogen Boeremia exigua var. exigua using antagonist bacteria.
