The variety belongs to the leaf chicory group. The name «Agrio Kokkino» means "wild red" in Greek. The plant has a decorative appearance due to the distinct green-red-brown coloration of the leaves.
The sowing period is recommended from July to September, with harvesting from September to November. The variety is considered low-maintenance, prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations and light nutrient-rich soils, and is characterized by resistance to cool temperatures.
Used in cooking for preparing salads and soups, as well as in boiled or stewed form. The produce contains inulin, vitamins A, C, K, and minerals, including calcium, iron, and potassium.
