The variety forms a rosette of rounded leaves up to 20 cm in height. A characteristic feature is the loose and open shape of the plant. Upon the onset of cold weather, the leaves acquire a saturated wine-red or dark blood-red color with contrasting white veins.
The plant belongs to winter varieties: sowing is carried out in summer, and the harvest is collected in winter months. The variety possesses high frost resistance and often does not require covering. The leaves have a crisp texture and a taste with moderate bitterness.
The variety is versatile in use: it is suitable for consumption fresh in salads, as well as for stewing, boiling, or frying. Due to the external decorativeness of the rosette, resembling a flower, the plant is also used for decorative purposes.
