The Encore variety is a hybrid form of Citrus reticulata. The tree is medium-sized with vertically directed branches. The variety is late-maturing: harvesting takes place from October to March, depending on climatic conditions.

The medium-sized fruits have a thin yellow-orange peel and juicy dark-orange flesh. A feature of the fruits is a high seed content, sometimes exceeding 25 pieces. There is a tendency toward fruit cracking and peel pitting, as well as an alternation of productive and unproductive years.

In agriculture, the variety is used as a table crop, allowing for an extended harvesting season. Due to its size and ornamental qualities, the tree is also used in container and indoor cultivation.
