This hybrid was created as a tool for adapting citrus trees to difficult soil conditions. It is characterized by resistance to Citrus tristeza virus and provides protection against specific fungal diseases such as Phytophthora spp., as well as against nematodes.

The use of this rootstock is aimed at controlling tree canopy size and accelerating the time to onset of bearing for varieties grafted onto it. In official registers, it is classified as an object for technical use in citrus cultivation.
