The variety is the result of a breeding program for the creation of triploid citrus fruits. Due to its triploid nature and low pollen and ovule fertility, this variety allows for the production of seedless fruits, which is a key requirement for the modern fresh fruit market.

The fruits are characterized by a high content of biologically active substances, including vitamin C, flavanones such as hesperidin, eriocitrin, and neoeriocitrin, as well as polymethoxyflavones, malic acid, and succinic acid. The produce possesses high antioxidant activity.
