The variety was discovered as a result of natural hybridization of the Satsuma mandarin variety. The harvest period in Spain falls between January and April.

The fruits have a smooth skin texture, white albedo, and are easy to peel. The flesh has a red hue; seeds are absent or rarely occur in cases of cross-pollination.

The plant possesses tolerance to the Citrus tristeza virus and fungal diseases of the genus Alternaria. The variety is intended for commercial cultivation as a table product.
