The variety is a triploid hybrid (3n=27) obtained through controlled crossing of the Wilking mandarin and the Minneola tangelo. The plant forms a canopy with thorns, primarily in the lower section, and possesses thicker and stiffer leaves compared to the Temple variety.
The medium-sized fruits are characterized by a red-orange color, smooth thin rind, and high flesh density. Due to its triploid nature and pollen sterility, the fruits are virtually seedless and are located primarily within the tree canopy.
The variety belongs to the early-ripening category. It is characterized by alternate bearing, a tendency for fruit drop, and difficulty in peeling, which limits its commercial use.
