The plant is a medium-sized upright shrub, reaching 1–1.5 meters in height with a similar crown width. The leaves are oval, shiny, and in spring have a lime-green and golden-yellow coloration, which is complemented by orange and red margins during the cooling of autumn and winter.

The variety has high resistance to urban air pollution, soil salinity, and sea spray, and is also not damaged by deer. It is a heat-loving plant suitable for USDA hardiness zones 8b–11; in colder climates, it requires protection.
