The plant is a deciduous shrub or small tree. The decorative appeal of the variety is provided by large bracts surrounding small flowers, as well as the formation of edible fruits resembling raspberries or strawberries in appearance, and distinct autumn foliage coloration.

The variety is for ornamental use and is applied in landscape design for creating park and garden compositions. The plant prefers sunny or semi-shaded areas with permeable, slightly acidic soils.
