The variety is morphologically indistinguishable from the varieties Romische Nuss, Frutto-grosso, Istarski Okrogloplodna, and Romai. Its origin is considered uncertain, however, in a number of databases it is listed as a variety selected in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The plant has a protandrous flowering type, where male flowers shed pollen earlier than female flowers. The variety requires cross-pollination for full fruiting. The fruits are distinguished by a high ability to remove the skin from the kernel, reaching 94.5%.
