The variety is also known by the names Pearson’s Prolific and Nottingham Prolific. The plant is a compact shrub 3–4 meters in height. The variety prefers sunny, sheltered sites with deep, nutrient-rich soils, developing especially well on calcareous soils.
Nuts form in clusters of 6–8, have a thin shell and an aromatic kernel; double kernels are not uncommon. The variety is self-fertile, but cross-pollination increases yields. The variety is characterized as reliable with moderate growth vigor, capable of bearing fruit even in unfavorable seasons.
