Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety produces small, elegant nuts with a characteristic subtle pink hue of the husk shell. In literature, the variety is sometimes mentioned as a variety or synonym of purple-leaved hazel.

The plant is traditionally cultivated for nut harvest and can also be grown as hedges, requiring pruning to limit height to two meters. Research shows that this variety has reduced susceptibility to infestation by the nut weevil.
