The Trapezunter Kaiserhasel variety is an heirloom plant originating from the Trapezunt region in Turkey. The vigorous plant forms a wide bush, which can take the shape of a small tree with age.
The plant belongs to early-maturing varieties with early fruiting and harvesting in September. The variety is self-incompatible and requires the presence of pollinator varieties such as Butler or Hallesche Riesennuss.
The nuts are characterized by a large or very large size, elongated shape, and relatively thin shell, and possess a pleasant taste. The variety is sensitive to severe winter frosts and spring frosts due to early dormancy break.
