Merveille de Bollwiller
ActiveCorylus avellana L. · Common hazel
WEISSMANN (FR)
10 August 2026
The plant has high growth vigor and can be formed as a bush or a tree. The variety is characterized by mid-early flowering and onset of vegetation; the nuts ripen slightly later than those of the Tonda Gentile delle Langhe variety.
The nuts are round in shape, small to medium in size (caliber 16–18 mm), and have a thin shell. When ripe, the nut separates easily from the husk; the kernels have a good taste and are easily peeled after roasting.
The variety shows sensitivity to the hazelnut bud mite and moderate resistance to the hazelnut weevil.
