The variety is an old local selection that historically developed in Catalonia. Currently, it is used as a fruit crop, but due to its specific characteristics, it has less industrial significance compared to the dominant varieties of the region.

In studies of the biochemical composition of the nuts, the variety is mentioned in the context of analyzing the content of phenolic compounds, fats, and minerals. It has been established that the level of certain phenolic compounds in it can be higher than in a number of other varieties.

Detailed specifications, such as plant height, resistance indicators to specific diseases, or ripening dates, are absent in open publications. The variety is included in specialized genetic resource collections for the study and preservation of cultural heritage.
