The plant belongs to the interspecific hybrid type of Cucurbita moschata and Cucurbita maxima. It is characterized as very vigorous and is not intended for producing fruits suitable for human consumption.

The main purpose of the rootstock is to provide a strong root system and to protect cultivated plants from soil-borne pathogens. The plant possesses resistance to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis and niveum, as well as to Verticillium wilt caused by Verticillium dahliae.
