The hybrid is used to increase the growth vigor of grafted plants and improve their nutrient and water uptake. The use of this rootstock provides high resistance to Fusarium wilt and Verticillium wilt.

The fruits of the rootstock have an orange skin background, but the plant itself is not intended for human consumption. Grafting onto this rootstock may contribute to increased flesh density of watermelon fruits and result in some delay in harvest maturity.
