The Titano variety is classified as an interspecific hybrid of Cucurbita maxima × Cucurbita moschata, used as a rootstock for other vegetable crops such as watermelons or cucumbers. Its use is aimed at increasing the resistance of grafted plants to soil-borne diseases and adverse external factors.
