The variety is the result of breeding work to create resistant forms of cypress. It belongs to a group of selections chosen for phytosanitary reliability and suitability for the Mediterranean climate.

The key characteristic of the variety is high resistance to the cypress canker pathogen Seiridium cardinale. The appearance and shape of the crown correspond to the characteristics of the Mistral range of breeding forms.
