Cydora Robusta
ActiveCydonia oblonga Mill. · Quince
10 August 2026
The tree is medium-sized or vigorous, with a height ranging from 3 to 7 meters. The crown can be either compact or broad. The variety enters into bearing in the 3rd–5th year after planting and is self-fertile or partially self-fertile.
The fruits are lemon-yellow, pear-shaped, narrowed toward the base, with thin shiny skin. The flesh is juicy, aromatic, and sweet-and-sour in taste; it acquires a reddish hue during thermal processing. The fruits hold firmly to the branches after ripening and have good transportability; their shelf life reaches 4–5 months.
The variety is relatively winter-hardy, drought-tolerant, and resistant to fungal diseases. It is demanding of soil and site lighting. The main purpose of the fruits is processing into jams, preserves, jellies, and use in the confectionery industry.
