Cydora Robusta
ActiveCydonia oblonga Mill. · Quince
10 August 2026
The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, reaching a height of 3 to 5 meters, rarely up to 8 meters, and possesses a dense spreading crown. The variety has a mid-season maturity, with fruits ripening in October. During the flowering period, the plant is covered with large pink or white-pink flowers.
Fruits are very large, weighing from 300 to 600 g, sometimes up to 900 g, pear-shaped or angular in form. The skin is golden yellow with fuzzy pubescence. The yellow flesh has a pronounced aroma and a sweet-and-sour taste. Due to the firmness of the fruits in their raw state, the variety is intended primarily for processing.
The variety is winter hardy and wind resistant, however, it is sensitive to damage by codling moth. It is self-fertile, but cross-pollination with other varieties, such as «Leskovacka», contributes to increased yield.
