Fruits of the Tekkes variety are large and covered with pubescence resembling camel hair. The flesh is juicy and crisp, belonging to non-astringent types in its characteristics, which allows the fruit to be consumed without additional thermal processing.

The variety is late-maturing and possesses resistance to powdery mildew. It is used in home gardening and is a subject of research into the genetic diversity of Turkish quince varieties.
