Cydora Robusta
ActiveCydonia oblonga Mill. · Quince
10 August 2026
The variety is a deciduous tree or large shrub with a spreading crown, reaching a height of 2.5 to 5 meters. The leaves are characteristically large, green on top with a silvery-gray tomentose coating on the underside.
The fruits are large, pear-shaped, and bright golden-yellow when mature. The flesh is firm, orange-yellow in hue, and due to its high hardness and astringency, it is used primarily for making jams, jellies, and other types of processing.
The variety is early-maturing, with the harvest collected in the autumn period. The plant is characterized by drought tolerance after establishment and is self-fertile, although the presence of other varieties nearby contributes to increased yields.
