The rootstock is the result of selection within a population of Quince of Angers. It has a growth-restricting effect comparable to the Quince A rootstock and promotes earlier entry into fruiting of the grafted pear.

The plant propagates well by layering and possesses high compatibility with a wide range of pear varieties. Compared to other clones of Quince of Angers, the rootstock demonstrates lower susceptibility to a number of viral diseases.

The rootstock is sensitive to high active calcium content in the soil, which triggers chlorosis, and adapts poorly to heavy clay substrates.
