The variety was created based on collections of wild cocksfoot populations from the oceanic regions of Europe. Breeding was focused on optimizing vegetation timing, which allows for a longer period of green forage production throughout the year.

During studies of Epichloë typhina infection in cocksfoot seed crops conducted in the Czech Republic from 2008–2010, no cases of infection were recorded for this variety.
