The Oasis variety is characterized by the absence of summer dormancy, continuing to vegetate intensively during the summer period. Physiologically, the plant demonstrates a higher content of water and abscisic acid in the tissues compared to varieties that enter a state of summer dormancy.
The ability of the variety to survive at a critical drop in soil moisture potential is estimated at -1.3 MPa. In scientific literature, this variety is more often considered as a model object for studying grass physiology, rather than as a commercial agricultural crop with described agronomic parameters.
