Variety description

The plant forms a compact cushion-like turf with narrow glaucous-green evergreen foliage. The plant height ranges from 15 to 30 cm. The flowers are large, double, with a velvety texture, colored in a rich cherry-red, and the petals have serrated edges.

Flowering continues from late spring to late summer. The variety is winter hardy (USDA zone 5 and higher), prefers sunny areas with well-drained soils of neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. The plant does not tolerate waterlogging and requires regular deadheading of spent inflorescences to prolong flowering.
