The plant is a natural mutation of the Dianthus 'Valda Wyatt' variety and is part of the Devon Cottage series. The variety forms dense clumps with narrow grey-green foliage. The double flowers reach 5 cm in diameter and possess a pronounced spicy fragrance.

The bush height is 25–38 cm. Flowering begins in late spring; repeat flowering is possible in summer if faded buds are removed. The plant is drought tolerant and prefers sunny locations with good drainage.
