The plant is a small well-branched shrub with an upright habit. The variety is a hybrid obtained by crossing commercial material with wild forms of Diplacus aurantiacus. It is used in landscape design for borders, slopes and container gardening.
The variety possesses heat tolerance and drought tolerance, however it requires good soil drainage as it is sensitive to waterlogging. Winter hardiness is limited; the plant withstands temperature drops down to -6…-4°C.
