The plant is a stemless succulent forming a dense rosette of triangular or ovate-deltoid leaves, the shape of which resembles molded wax figures. The rosette height is usually from 7 to 15 cm, the diameter varies from 12 to 20 cm, sometimes reaching 30 cm.

The plant is slow-growing and most often solitary, rarely forming daughter rosettes. It is sensitive to overwatering, prone to root rot and is not frost-hardy, requiring maintenance at temperatures above 5–10 °C.
