Variety description

The variety is a compact shrub with a moderate growth rate of about 30–40 cm per year. Young shoots have a brown hue; mature leaves are leathery, dark olive in color with a copper undertone and a silvery-beige underside.
Flowering occurs from late summer to autumn with small fragrant flowers smelling of clove or lily of the valley. In mild winters, edible red fruits are formed. The plant is adapted to dry, poor, and saline soils, frost resistance reaches -20 °C.
