The Persuasion variety belongs to the category of turf grasses and is used for landscaping sports grounds, school areas, golf courses, parks, and private gardens. As part of the Rutgers University breeding program, the variety was developed with the goal of improving aesthetic qualities, including darker leaf color, fine texture, low growth habit, and high turf density.

During field trials conducted in New Jersey, the variety was evaluated for such indicators as turf quality, density, and establishment rate. The plant contains endophytes that contribute to increased resistance to harmful insects.
