The Banner variety belongs to historical breeding developments intended primarily for roadside greening. In specialized literature, Banner is classified as red fescue (Festuca rubra), and its Banner II and III modifications as Chewings fescue (Festuca rubra ssp. commutata).
These varieties underwent testing within the framework of programs for the selection of turf grasses with high adaptability. Research institution reports note that the Banner II and III varietal forms show stable results in early and late vegetation seasons.
