The Audubon variety belongs to the creeping red fescue subspecies. The plant possesses strong underground rhizomes, which contributes to the formation of dense sod and self-recovery after damage. Externally, the variety is distinguished by fine leaf texture, dark green color, and high turf density.

The variety shows a high spring green-up rate and the ability to maintain color in the autumn period. It possesses resistance to leaf rust, crown rust, and summer patch, as well as moderate resistance to red thread, Pythium blight, and leaf spot.

The plant is adapted to a soil pH range of 4.5 to 8.0, tolerates both sunny areas and partial shade, and withstands various maintenance regimes. Mowing height ranges from 3.75 to 7.5 cm. The variety is used for creating decorative and functional turf in parks, on golf courses, slopes, and roadsides.
