The Barrisse variety belongs to the subspecies Festuca rubra rubra and is a turf grass with underground rhizomes. It is intended for professional sports surfaces, such as fairways and tees on golf courses, as well as for landscaping.
The plant forms a dense turf and is characterized by high visual appeal due to its fine leaf texture. One of the key features of the variety is its exceptional resistance to the disease red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis).
