Festuca rubra L. Red fescue · Agricultural · bred by Pure Seed Testing Inc (US)

Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a strongly rhizomatous red fescue. The population of this variety served as the source material for further breeding, in particular, for the development of the Flyer II form, which is distinguished by improved color, turf quality, and flag leaf characteristics.

The plant has a fine leaf texture and pronounced shade tolerance, which allows it to be used for creating turf covers in areas with insufficient lighting. In hot and humid climate conditions, the variety may show susceptibility to dollar spot and brown patch.
