The variety belongs to the slender creeping red fescue subspecies, which is characterized by the presence of long rhizomes. Salsa forms a high-quality dense turf with narrow leaves of a dark green shade.

The plant possesses high seed germination energy and the ability to suppress weed growth. The variety is relatively shade-tolerant, withstands low mowing, and can grow on poor soils.

This variety is used for creating park and sports lawns, as well as for landscaping home gardens.
