The variety belongs to red fescue and is considered a creeping red fescue type used in turfgrass mixtures.

In 1970s studies, the variety was characterized as being prone to tiller formation when mown. In snow mold resistance trials conducted in 1974, the variety showed average infection rates of 65% under test conditions.

The variety name is cited in publications as 'Sceempter'. The prefix 'tracante' is absent in available sources, which may indicate a spelling error or the use of a trade name not reflected in official registers.
